In an increasingly fast-paced world, prioritizing health has never been more crucial. This isn’t about striving to be as skinny and fit as possible; it's about feeling good and being truly healthy. A creative career teaches you the importance of a journey towards health. To be able to create consistently, one must be in tune with the importance of feeling good mentally and physically. Prioritizing well-being not only fuels your creativity but also helps you navigate the challenges of the creative process with resilience and clarity.

What does being healthy truly mean?

Navigating through a world where information is often pushed for capitalist benefits can be challenging. Every store seems to have some new pill or processed food promising health benefits. Navigating through the sea of misinformation can be exhausting, sometimes tempting us to choose a quick fast-food burger over making healthier choices.

There is light at the end of this cluttered tunnel. After conducting extensive research and personally testing various sources, I've identified a few wholesome ingredients and food sources worth trusting.

Your body will tell you more about what is healthy than any label ever can.Trust how you feel after eating certain foods. We are all different, and fortunately, we have a plethora of choices available.

In this exploration, we will uncover the hidden powers of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other wholesome foods.

Redefining how you relate to food is crucial to truly enjoying it for the remarkable gift that it is.

Our bodies need vitamins and minerals to function properly. Most foods believed to be healthy, simply because they keep the body looking good, are not necessarily wholesome. Whole foods, those coming directly from the earth, will always surpass any processed product.

Feeling constantly tired or experiencing brain fog can be a sign of low vitamin B intake.

Wholesome food sources rich in vitamin B include:

- Whole grains like rice, barley, and millet

- Ethically sourced meats

- Eggs and dairy products

- Legumes, seeds and nuts

- Dark, leafy greens

- Citrus fruits, bananas, and avocados

Experiencing a decrease in skin health or getting frequent colds?

Increase your vitamin C intake.

Vitamin C is essential for growth, development, and repair of all body tissues. Rich sources include guavas, chili peppers, sweet yellow peppers, blackcurrants, thyme, parsley, mustard spinach, broccoli, kiwis, lemons, papayas, strawberries, and oranges.

If you don't get enough sun, consider adding foods rich in Vitamin D to your diet.

Unlike other vitamins, Vitamin D functions like a hormone, and every cell in your body has a receptor for it. Foods rich in Vitamin D include salmon, sardines, cod liver oil, egg yolk, and mushrooms.

Contrary to popular belief, not all fats are bad. In fact, some are essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Vitamins E, A, and K are fat-soluble and typically found in healthy fats. These vitamins help with cell function, skin health, healthy teeth, eyesight, and support the immune system with their anti-inflammatory properties. Foods rich in these vitamins include abalone, salmon, other seafood, broccoli, spinach, green vegetables, nuts, and seeds like sunflower seeds and hazelnuts.

These examples illustrate how basic foods, when properly incorporated into your diet, can significantly enhance overall health. Remember, cooking and preparation methods play a crucial role in creating healthy meal choices.

Gut health is another important factor to keep in mind.

Probiotic yogurt and fermented foods such as kimchi, sauerkraut, and miso are excellent choices in this regard.

Embrace the journey of learning to love food again and prepare delicious meals that fuel your mind, body, and soul!

In conclusion, transforming our diet into a source of nourishment for the mind, body, and soul is more than a trend—it's a way of life. It's about making mindful choices that support overall health and well-being, rather than focusing solely on fitting a certain number on the scale.

By embracing a diet filled with wholesome foods, vitamins and minerals and understanding their impact, we can enjoy a more balanced, energized, and fulfilling life.

Start this journey towards health with a plate full of nature's best and a heart open to change. Eat well, live well, and thrive!
